The students in grade five decided that should they all earn their end-of-week reward, they would want an “opera day” where we sing all of our conversations. Below are a couple of clips from our “opera day.”
Later we spent the entire afternoon out on our field trip (also a student’s idea). Grade five and six have been studying erosion in science. This week we focused on river sediment and shoreline erosion, so it was the perfect excuse for a field trip to the river. We observed river sediment, tidal erosion, and built our own breakwaters to absorb the force of the waves and limit erosion. Of course we had extra time for fun like swimming in the river and eating ice cream from the kai bar (food bar).
All in all, it was a successful day and I’m very thankful for the other adults who helped. These students are creative and so much fun to teach. God is good.
