Although there are many aspects of home that I miss, I know that when I do go home one day, I’ll miss much of Papua New Guinea as well. Papua New Guinea isn’t perfect as we live in a fallen world, but its vast contrast to what I’ve known the majority of my life seems to awaken me to little blessings I’ve taken advantage of in the past. All my senses are engaged: seeing the vivid colors, hearing the songs of birds morning and night, feeling the almost spring-like sunshine year round.
Now that I’m living in Ukarumpa, I have a fairly routine schedule. Teaching at the primary school takes a good majority of my time and ministry. But there always seems to be something new. It’s become my goal to discover this general revelation of God each day. Perhaps you can, too.
